MajesticSEO offer a world-class API that allows users to gain access to backlink data for any domain. Their data comes from their own crawler that has been running for a while now. Loads of SEO products are using Majestic SEO data at this point, and their product is quickly turning into the market leading offering.
Unfortunately, their developer resources do not offer a Ruby interface, the available client examples are restricted to Java, PHP, Perl and C#. I took the liberty of packaging and publishing our <80 line ruby client, mainly to demonstrate how much easier it is to work with ruby (the PHP client is about 6 times the size and does less).
Take a look at it here: github.com/Achillefs/majesticseo
- Data structures are returned as ruby objects. Majestic SEO responses are parsed into corresponding objects, allowing developers to access them as they would access any ruby object.
maj = Majesticseo::Client.new(:app_api_key => "BLAH") maj.get_subscription_info # GlobalVars works as an array or object if maj.success? puts maj.global_vars.max_bulk_backlinks_check else puts maj.response puts maj.error_message end
- activesupport >= 2.0.2
- nokogiri >= 1.4.0
- sudo gem install majesticseo —no-ri —no-rdoc
